1.  Why Pathology?  As an undergraduate student at the University of Texas San Antonio, I took a course in histology/cytology and fell in love with the process of using the microscope to evaluate and interpret different tissue types and cells.  I knew I wanted to pursue a career where I could use this skill and pathology was the perfect fit!

2. Why did you choose UT Health San Antonio?  I was lucky to personally know two pathologists who completed a hematopathology fellowship at UT Health San Antonio and they loved their experience. With great teachers with a good variety of cases, the choice was a no-brainer for me! Also, as a San Antonio native, I could not be more excited to train in the city that raised me and continue my journey as part of the UT system.

3. What do you like about living in San Antonio?  San Antonio is such a great place to live because it’s a large city with diverse living options and a reasonable cost of living. And while the summers are a bit warm (that’s putting it mildly), it does allow for two growing seasons for gardening. And let’s not forget . . .  breakfast tacos, HEB, and the San Antonio Spurs!!!
